Man Arrested for Plotting Assault on Prince Charles and Camilla in NewZealand

An anti-monarchy protestor has been arrested in Auckland for allegedly planning an attack on the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall during their tour of New Zealand.

The man, named in the New Zealand media as Sam Bracanov, 74, was held after he was seen on CCTV carrying an unidentified item with which police feared he was intending to launch his attack. It was recalled that Mr Bracanov tried to disrupt several royal tours in the past.

He is said to appear in Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
