An online dating site for good looking people has launched a free
recruitment service allowing employers to browse its ‘beautiful’
members.
Companies who count complexion as one of their key competencies can log on to
the "lookist" dating community BeautifulPeople.com
and browse their handsome selection of attractive jobseekers.
The dating site which has 750,000 members presently, only allows people to join if existing members vote them in
based on their looks, and is launching
the employment agency as
an added benefit to their membership.
Greg Hodge, the site’s managing director, said: ‘An honest employer
will tell you that it pays to hire good looking staff. Attractive people
tend to make a better first impression on clients, win more business
and earn more.’
But employment experts have warned there may be possible discrimination
claims if 'looks' were found to be a reason for an unsuccessful
application.
