The world's oldest person has died in Japan, aged 116.
Jiroemon Kimura, who lived in Kyoto, passed away yesterday June 12, after being in hospital for pneumonia since last month.
He became the world's oldest person in December 2012 after the former record holder, a woman from Iowa, died aged 115.

media reported that Kimura who was born in 1897, is survived by seven children, 14
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
