Manchester United Title Parade: Fans Bid Farewell To Fergie - Photos

Thousands of Manchester United fans gathered at the club's Old Trafford stadium yesterday evening to mark the club's 20th league title and Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
They paraded their trophy in an open-top bus tour with thousands of adoring fans around the streets of Manchester.
The parade started at 6pm from the East Stand forecourt at Old Trafford. Bus left at around 6.40pm after a brief speech from Ferguson and arrived final stop Albert Square at around 8pm. It was indeed a night of celebration for the champions of England. See more photos after the cut...

Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson Retires

Sir Alex Ferguson will step down as Manchester United manager at the end of the current season, vacating his position after the celebrated English football (soccer) club's match with West Bromwich Albion on May 19.

He will remain with Manchester United but this time serving as a director and ambassador for the club.

The 71-year-old Ferguson, a near-legendary figure in the sport, is the longest-serving manager in the team's history, haven spent 26 years in office. He took up the position in late 1986, and under his stewardship "Man U" has won 38 titles, including 13 Premier League trophies, 2 Champions League crowns,5 FA Cups and 4 League Cups.
The club will be announcing a successor to Ferguson before the weekend.

Football Fans Clash in a North London Club





Police arrested six men after a fight broke out between rival Millwall and West Ham football fans on the dance floor at a rock concert in north London.


The incident took place at Camden Barfly in Chalk Farm Road last night during the performance by "Kid British", who were playing their last gig before they finally split up.

The men have been charged for public order offences and being disorderly.
