A Man Wins Lottery On His Boxing Day Birthday

 

A man celebrating his birthday on Boxing Day (December 26) received an extra special present when he discovered he had become a millionaire in a Christmas lottery draw.
Andrew Garth was hosting a party for his 29th birthday when he checked his EuroMillions ticket and found out he had won £1 million in the Millionaire Raffle on Christmas Day.
Mr Garth, a freelance light and sound events technician from Middlesbrough, described the win as "crazy" and said he would now indulge his passion for music by opening a live venue.

Hillary Clinton Hospitalized With Blood Clot

 

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday with a blood clot linked to a concussion she suffered earlier this month.

The 65-year-old initially fell ill with a stomach bug that led to her fainting and sustaining a concussion. Her spokesman Philippe Reines said in a statement yesterday: "In the course of a follow-up exam, Secretary Clinton's doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago.
"She is being treated with anti-coagulants and her doctors will monitor the medication over the next 48 hours. They will determine if any further action is required."

Nobel Prize Scientist Rita Levi-Montalcini Dies Aged 103

 

Biologist Rita Levi-Montalcini, who conducted underground research in defiance of Fascist persecution and went on to win a Nobel Prize for helping unlock the mysteries of the cell, has died at her home in Rome aged 103. Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno, made the announcement in a statement today.

Italy's so-called "Lady of the Cells", a Jew who lived through anti-Semitic discrimination and the Nazi invasion, became one of her country's leading scientists and shared the Nobel medicine prize for her groundbreaking research in the United States. Her research increased the understanding of many conditions, including tumours, developmental malformations, and senile dementia.
In 2001, Italy honored Levi-Montalcini by making her a senator-for-life.

Captain Yobo Tells Odemwingie To Grow Up

Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo has lashed out at Peter Odemwingie after the West Brom striker said the country does not have a team leader.

Odemwingie has been dropped from the squad for next month's Africa Cup of Nations. Expressing his disappointment, He said via Twitter few days ago that recent Super Eagles captains have only looked out only for themselves.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s multi-million naira hill-top mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital was on Thursday destroyed by fire, with one person sustaining injury.
It was said that the fire started 20 minutes after Obasanjo reportedly left the house, and that it was caused by an electricity surge from one of the offices of the former president and destroyed some valuable documents. Obasanjo expressed appreciation to God, during his address to some newsmen shortly after the fire was put out.

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma paid a visit to Nelson Mandela in hospital and says the 94-year-old is 'in good spirits' on Christmas morning.
Family members including his wife Graca Machel are spending the day with Mr Mandela at his bedside.
The ex-president was admitted to hospital on December 8 with a lung infection, where he undergone surgery to remove gallstones. Wishing him a quick recovery...

The Bishops of Woolwich, Southwark and Kingston will all spend Christmas Day in prison.
Bishop of Woolwich, the Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave will be at Thameside Prison on Christmas morning to lead a service there. The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, will lead the service at Brixton Prison while Bishop of Kingston, the Rt Revd Dr Richard Cheetham, will be at Wandsworth.
Bishop Christopher said: "It is so important that we are able to spend time with those who are in the prisons and young offenders’ institution on Christmas Day.
"It is often a difficult time for them and so it is very good to go and pray with them as we celebrate the birth of our Lord.

Over 300 Nigerian Pilgrims Stranded In Isreal

 

Nigerian pilgrims, who were supposed to round up their ten-day trip to Jerusalem yesterday, checked out of their hotels very early only to be told on their arrival at the airport that there’s no arrangement made for their return trip back home.  
The pilgrims said when they contacted their travel agency, Tailormade Tours Limited, it explained that the problem was due to non remittance of funds to be used to make arrangements for their airlift by the Nigeria Christians Pilgrims Commission. After staying at the airport for over seven hours, the management of the airport later asked the pilgrims to leave the airport. hehehe

Email Hacker Christopher Chaney Sentenced To 10 Years Imprisonment

   

Christopher Chaney, 36, who admitted to illegally accessing email accounts belonging to Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, and  more than four dozen celebrities to steal their private photos and confidential documents was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison by a U.S. District Court judge in Los Angeles on Monday. The man from Jacksonville, Florida was also ordered to pay a fine of more than $66,000 as restitution for his crimes.

Chaney was arrested in November 2011 and has been in custody since March. According to the U.S. Attorney's office in Los Angeles, Chaney gained access to the email accounts of the celebrities by resetting their passwords using the "forgot your password" feature. He apparently used publicly available information on the celebrities to correctly answer the security questions needed to reset the passwords on the Gmail, Apple and Yahoo email accounts they used.
He collected numerous private photographs, business contracts, letters, scripts, driver's license information and Social Security Numbers. Wow!!!!

Former Mr Nigeria Kenneth Okolie kidnapped Alongside Nkiru Sylvanus

 

Nigerian actress Nkiru Sylvanus was kidnapped on Saturday December 15th, and while her captors are still demanding for N100m naira ransom, the latest development is that she was kidnapped alongside the 2010 Mr Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie and yet to be identified 3rd person.

The pair were said to have left a movie location in Owerri when the incident happened along Catheral Road in the city. The kidnappers are yet to make contact with Kenneth's family. I pray that God will save and deliver them from wicked and unreasonable men, in Jesus name., Amen.
Can't stand those bandits called kidnappers, giving Nigeria a bad name every second and wasting innocent lives here and there, a day of reckoning is coming soon.

World's Oldest Woman Dies Two Weeks After Inheriting The Title

 

Oh dear! A 115-year-old US woman Dina Manfredini has died less than two weeks after inheriting the title of the world's oldest person. According to Guinness World Records, Ms Manfredini inherited the title less than two weeks ago when fellow American Bessie Cooper died at the age of 116. Following her death, a Japanese man Jiroemon Kimura is believed to now hold the title. R.I.P Mama 'uwa'....interpret?

Queen Elizabeth II arrived this morning in Downing Street where she will become the first monarch for more than a century to attend Cabinet. She was welcomed by Prime Minister David Cameron on the steps of Number 10, which had been covered with a red carpet for the occasion. It is thought to be the first time a monarch has attended the meeting since at least the reign of Queen Victoria.

Woman Chases Train For a MILE After Leaving Belongings On Board

 

A woman who left her belongings on a train ran for almost a mile along the tracks in Lancashire.
She got off the train at Burnley Central Station to buy a ticket after her card was declined when she tried to purchase one on board. But the guard was unaware and gave the signal to depart, when she realized it, she climbed down from the platform and chased after the train on to the next station, Burnley Barracks, a mile down the line.
A train travelling in the opposite direction had to stop as staff helped her to safety. Police were called and later issued her a £50 fixed penalty notice for trespassing on the railways and said her actions were 'incredibly dangerous'. I wonder what the belongings were, that caused her to risk her life.

The Day Evil Visited Connecticut, R.I.P School Shooting Victims

 

I was on the M25 motorway at about 6:30pm yesterday coming into London when I saw the news update on the shooting of Sandy Hook Elementary school children in Newtown Connecticut. The death tool kept rising as I followed the news until finally it was confirmed that a gunman who was identified as 20-year-old Adam Lanza fired more than a hundred rounds killing 27 people, among them were 20 children, principal, psychologist, and four other adults, before finally killing himself. Adam was believed to have shot his mother Nancy Lanza who was a teacher in the school, earlier on in his house in New Jersey before driving to the school.

L.A. Reid Is Quitting The 'X Factor USA'

 

 Epic Records chairman and  music mogul - L.A. Reid is quitting 'The X Factor' next year because he wants to get back to work as the chairman of his label.
He told 'Access Hollywood': "I have decided that I will not return to 'The X Factor' next year. It saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit. I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected." "This was a nice break but now it's time to get back to work."

Kidnappers Free Okonjo Iweala's Mother

 

According to a senior security official reporting to Reuters - Kidnappers has freed the 82-year-old mother of Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on Friday, five days after she was taken from her home in Delta State. The authorities did not mention whether or not ransoms were paid before her release. It was also reported yesterday that soldiers had arrested 63 people in raids conducted during the search for Kamene Okonjo. Thank God she is safe, that's the most important.

A self-styled sugar daddy who pays students for sex spent £121,000 on champagne last night celebrating a big win at a casino.
Dexter Koh, who owns a public relations company in Shoreditch, claimed he won a six-figure sum in a night of gambling before arriving at Aura nightclub in Mayfair at midnight and blew more than £121,000 on champagne, including a single Methuselah of Cristal — six litres at £26,000, Jeroboam of Ace of Spades champagne, three litres, at £16,500.
He tweeted photographs from inside the nightclub, surrounded by models and huge champagne bottles fizzing with sparklers and wrote, “12/12/12 wow just smashed it again on the tables. Six figures. What a way to end the year. Let’s get my drink on!”. He added: “having it large”, “this bill will be epic” and “now that’s what I call getting your round in!”.
